Okay, I forgot to blog this earlier.

Last week I adopted an Orangutan. His name is Wigly. He was born in June 2009 and was placed in care after his mother couldn’t take care of him.

As a baby, Wigly was very attached to an old blanket, which he carried everywhere and cried if someone tried to take it away.

Wigly currently lives at the Nyaru Menteng Orangutan Rehabilitation Project in Indonesia, but will eventually be released back into the wild. Until then, he (and many others) need the support of donations to continue being so well cared for. So please, if you can, contribute to the ongoing care and wellbeing of orangutans. They are endangered, and as my favourite animal, I don’t want to see a world where they no longer exist.

The photos above are of Wigly when he was a baby. Everytime I see him it makes me smile and my heart melt. He is definitely one of the cutest creatures i’ve ever seen.
